Main responsibilities:

- Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department, including Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Beer/Liquor, to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service objectives.

- Support overall store operations and provide leadership to department managers and store associates in the absence of the Store Director.

- Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, rotated, merchandised, and maintained in compliance with company quality, safety, sanitation, and inventory standards.

- Monitor inventory levels, manage product ordering, control shrink, and oversee inventory counts and reclamation processes.

- Lead, coach, train, schedule, and develop department associates to ensure excellent customer service and operational performance.

- Participate in recruiting, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning while fostering a positive work environment

- Analyze sales, labor, and financial performance metrics, and implement plans to improve productivity, sales growth, and profitability.

- Resolve customer concerns, maintain positive vendor relationships, and promote a culture of exceptional customer service throughout the store.

- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to retail operations.

- Proficiency with basic math, accounting principles, and computer software applications.

- Abilities :

- Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve sales and operational goals.

- Ability to identify business opportunities and implement short- and long-term plans.

- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational standards.

- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist in various store functions as needed.

- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations and operational challenges.

- Educational requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Additional education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

- Equivalent combination of education and extensive retail management experience will be considered.

- Other requirements:

- Extensive retail management experience, preferably in grocery or food retail operations.

- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Regular and reliable attendance.

- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and refrigerated/freezer areas.

- Commitment to maintaining company standards for safety, grooming, dress code, and workplace conduct.
