Job Title: Business Analyst / Research Analyst – Investor Insights Job Description
This role combines business analysis with research and data-driven insight to support Investor Insights production within a global think tank environment. You will focus on automating and enhancing AI-assisted workflows, maintaining and improving capital markets research outputs, and delivering tailored presentations and analysis to internal stakeholders and clients. The position is fully remote with flexible hours and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data, has a strong interest in commercial real estate and capital markets, and is eager to leverage AI tools to make research faster, more accurate, and more impactful.
Responsibilities
- Build, run, and continuously improve automated AI-assisted workflows for data retrieval, chart production, and presentation updates.
- Support the development of on-demand, tailored deliverables such as customized capital markets presentations that combine national and market-level content for specific brokers or clients.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline existing research processes, challenging whether current production formats still deliver optimal value.
- Maintain and update recurring capital markets presentation decks, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
- Support the development and ongoing refinement of sector-specific capital markets presentations for various audiences.
- Assist in updating and creating major thought leadership pieces produced by the think tank, contributing data, analysis, and clear visualizations.
- Build presentation materials for client meetings and internal audiences, including Investor Relations sessions, capital markets all-hands meetings, and practice group forums.
- Source, maintain, and quality-check the data that underpins recurring research deliverables, ensuring reliability and integrity.
- Conduct complex data analysis to generate clear charts, exhibits, and insights that support capital markets and investor-focused research.
- Support rapid-response research efforts by helping the team publish timely analysis when market conditions change.
- Prepare briefing materials and talking points that enable fee earners and senior stakeholders to communicate research findings effectively.
- Present research and insights on internal and external calls alongside fee earners and clients, explaining data and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues across research, capital markets, and related teams to understand information needs and deliver high-quality, data-driven outputs.
- Manage multiple workstreams and recurring deadlines in a highly organized manner, ensuring consistent delivery of research and presentations.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience applying AI tools to real work, with concrete examples of how processes were made faster or better.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex data analysis with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create clear, visually compelling presentations and exhibits.
- Proficiency working with data, including sourcing, cleaning, validating, and presenting it through charts and other visual formats.
- Background in data analysis and complex data analysis, with comfort handling large or multifaceted datasets.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to organize and present information clearly for senior audiences.
- Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate, capital markets, and economics, and the ability to engage with related concepts and trends.
- High level of organization and dependability, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and meet recurring deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining consistent communication and collaboration with team members.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in all research outputs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Python or a strong willingness to learn and apply Python for data and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with SQL or experience using a data platform such as Snowflake to query and manage data.
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools for data visualization and reporting.
- Experience using commercial real estate data platforms such as CoStar for market and asset-level analysis.
- Academic Background or coursework in real estate, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong interest in using AI and automation to improve research workflows and deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with research, capital markets, and investor-focused teams in a virtual environment.
- Comfort presenting data and insights verbally to internal and external stakeholders on calls and in virtual meetings.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role that offers very flexible working hours, allowing you to structure your day around recurring deadlines and project needs. You will work in a technology-enabled research environment that emphasizes AI-assisted workflows, advanced data analysis, and automated production of charts and presentations. Daily tools and technologies include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Power BI, AI platforms, SQL or Snowflake for data management, and commercial real estate data sources such as CoStar. Collaboration takes place through virtual meetings, calls, and digital communication channels, with frequent interaction with research colleagues, capital markets professionals, and fee earners. There is no specific dress code beyond what is appropriate for remote professional meetings and client-facing calls.

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
