As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

With your analytics and financial acuity, you'll liaise between the Finance team with the functional areas it supports. You resolve issues related to forecasting, planning, resource prioritization and business profitability, and you help translate analyses into easy-to-understand presentations.

We transform complex, multi-platform ecosystem reporting layers into financial truth supporting the Platforms and Devices Controllership and Finance teams. Our team is responsible for designing, engineering, and maintaining data infrastructure that supports financial reporting and operations for a wide variety of products including Play, Google One, Android, Pixel, Fitbit, Nest, and more.
We are seeking a professional, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join the Platforms and Devices Controllership Systems team. As a Finance Business Intelligence Analyst, you will establish governance, execute tasks from end-to-end, and deliver vital pieces of our business intelligence and data projects. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $102000 - $145000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.

- 2 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, quantitative analysis, or a related field.

- Experience programming with SQL and an additional programming language (e.g., R, Python, or JavaScript).

Preferred qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.

- 1 year of experience in data analysis, software development, technical business analysis, or IT project management.

- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Data Studio) to model, transform, and visualize data.

- Proficient in SQL for data extraction and reporting.

- Highly developed conceptual, and problem-solving skill sets with an ability to quickly troubleshoot issues and think outside of the box.

- Build, maintain, and optimize reporting pipelines and data infrastructure to facilitate data gathering, storage, and retrieval. Evaluate business requirements to automate manual operational tasks for the Controllership team.

- Develop reports, queries, and dashboards by creating complex SQL code to access and consolidate information from various data sources.

- Provide ongoing support for data users, including the maintenance of reports, queries, dashboards, and troubleshooting end-user access issues.

- Partner closely with the Controllership team to identify data sources, validate data anomalies, and translate metrics into formats that enable supported teams to quickly and easily derive relevant information for month-end activities.

- Train and support the Controllership team to query system financial data, conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed automations, and participate in the creation of Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
