JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving the integration of technology, systems, and processes across the organization. This role connects software, equipment, and business systems to enhance operational efficiency and data flow. Working closely with production, engineering, and business teams, the Manufacturing Systems Engineer identifies opportunities for automation, resolves system issues, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

The individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the job duties listed below.

Responsibilities:

- Support and maintain manufacturing and business systems (e.g., ERP/JobBoss, reporting tools, integrations)
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and office staff to identify system and process improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement solutions to improve workflow efficiency, data accuracy, and system performance
- Troubleshoot system issues impacting production, workflows, or reporting
- Assist with automation and integration of manufacturing equipment, software, and data systems
- Support data collection and reporting initiatives to improve visibility into operations
- Maintain system documentation, workflows, and user procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to processes, systems, and technology
- Serve as a liaison between IT, engineering, and production teams
- Stay current with emerging technologies impacting manufacturing and systems integration
- Stay current with emerging software technologies and development trends

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

- 3+ years of related experience

Related Experience:

Proven experience in manufacturing, automation, or software development.

Knowledge of the injection mold building and injection molding is a plus.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java, or similar)
- Experience with database systems (SQL, data modeling)
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and web technologies
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work across departments and communicate with both technical and non-technical users
- Hands-on mindset with a focus on practical solutions
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Primarily office-based with occasional interaction with production systems or shop floor operations.
