Why this role is important?

Basic Function
The Business Analyst is directly responsible for providing troubleshooting and technical assistance for financial assistance programs which simplify complex billing processes for high cost medications for retail pharmacies. The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring coordination and maintenance of set-up, activation and termination of policies for financial assistance programs, data management and acts as a coordinator for various projects. You will work closely with the program management team to deliver exceptional client management and business objectives. You must be keen to apply your unique talents and be part of a high-performing team.

Principal Accountabilities
• Respond to incoming calls, emails or system communications from SHN Staff or Pharmacies
• Work with various business units to document needs for future upgrades, training issues and refresher sessions
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the data structures required to monitor product attributes and performance to proactively identify issues
• Provide exceptional customer service to all parties requesting assistance, ensuring that the unique needs of the individual’s requirements are met
• Assist with projects as requested
• Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with internal policies and procedures, as well as maintaining timelines based on contractual obligations
• Create, review and audit reports for Financial Assistance across the SHN programs
• Data management and secure file transfer
• Run, validate and review reports, analyze trends, opportunities and weaknesses and summarize for report end users which includes internal employees and clients
• Maintain business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documentation for all reports
• Liaise with internal staff who provide and support program services
• Report all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:
• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience
• Business/Computer Science/Engineering Degree or equivalent working experience is an asset
• Strong computer skills in a Windows environment using MS Visio, PowerPoint and Word
• Intermediate or Expert level Excel, VBA, Access (and other relational databases); SQL experience is an asset
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with CRM platforms (SalesForce, Siebel, PatientConnect, etc.) and Business Intelligence Platforms (Qlik, Tableau, etc.) is a strong asset
• A team player with the desire to provide superior customer care
• Able to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Work effectively, with short lead times and changing customer demands
• Diplomatic, professional communicator, able to maintain patient confidentiality, as per SDM Specialty Health Network policies and legal requirements
• Excellent time management, organizational, and a keen attention to detail are required
• Must work well under pressure, with changing deadlines from external forces, changing priorities, and projects with multiple individuals within the organization
• Must be able manage time effectively through flexibility & prioritization
• Must enjoy working in an environment of fast paced change and ambiguity, with little direct supervision
