Software Developer

SRC, Inc. is seeking a talented Intermediate Software Developer to join our Applications Engineering team. In this full‑stack development role, you’ll support the complete software development lifecycle—analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance—of internal business applications. You’ll work in critical domains such as Configuration Management/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Cost & Pricing systems, building scalable, secure applications that streamline operations and support enterprise growth. This role combines hands-on development with regular collaboration with internal business partners to translate requirements into high-quality technical solutions.

What You’ll Do
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain business‑critical applications using C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL, and other languages
• Build and enhance web applications and services using ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Entity Framework, and other technologies
• Analyze system requirements and collaborate with internal users to define functional and technical specifications
• Translate business requirements into clear, scalable technical designs
• Partner with senior developers to grow expertise in platform architecture, software design patterns, and domain knowledge
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues requiring code fixes or configuration updates
• Collaborate across IT and business teams on application integration, data management, and technical debt reduction
• Support PLM/Configuration Management and Cost & Pricing systems, with opportunities to contribute to additional business domains
• Recommend modern technologies and best practices to improve system performance, reliability, and user experience
• Work with software vendors to resolve technical issues and optimize system capabilities
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and improvement opportunities

What You’ll Bring  
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience developing software solutions
• Proficiency with Visual Studio or comparable IDEs
• Strong hands‑on experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SQL
• Experience developing full‑stack web applications and web services using ASP.NET/ASP.NET Core/MVC and Entity Framework
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment

Ways to Stand Out
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps
• Experience with React, Node.js, and front-end libraries such as jQuery or Bootstrap
• Familiarity with build tools such as NPM, Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt
• Experience with unit testing frameworks like NUnit or Jest
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, CI/CD, and version control workflows

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $93,000 to $110,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
