Electrician with OCONUS Travel

Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for operational support and facilities maintenance, providing electrical trade expertise across maintenance, repair, construction, and recapitalization activities. Primary responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, testing, and installation of light commercial electrical systems and services

The individual will work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team on a wide variety of tasks supporting the customer with engineering, analysis, testing, preventive maintenance, repair, new construction, recapitalization, and demolition

The Electrician will assess circumstances and existing conditions, identify deficiencies, and determine appropriate technical solutions in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, customer specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, and industry standards. The individual will present technical recommendations to the supervisor and/or customer and execute approved direction through completion of the task

The role requires sound technical judgment, strong customer service, and responsiveness to both planned and time-sensitive requirements. Other site duties outside the electrical trade may be required in support of specific mission-related tasking

Clearance Requirements

- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
- Ideal candidate will be eligible and willing to obtain any additional clearance or access required by the customer

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must possess demonstrated hands-on experience and working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, circuitry, components, equipment, controls, manufacturers, suppliers, and associated installation and maintenance practices

- Plan and execute electrical work: Evaluate requirements, determine appropriate means and methods, develop material and equipment lists, prepare cost estimates, forecast work schedules, and coordinate execution through completion
- Interpret technical documentation: Read and interpret construction drawings, building plans, specifications, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment cut sheets, O&M manuals, manufacturer instructions, warranties, and other technical documentation
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance: Inspect, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain electrical systems and components to support safe and reliable facility operations
- Support installation and modification activities: Perform electrical installations, upgrades, modifications, new construction, recapitalization, and demolition in accordance with approved requirements, applicable codes, manufacturer recommendations, and established workmanship standards
- Apply safety requirements: Understand and comply with OSHA requirements, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), applicable electrical safety practices, and established procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and site-specific safety protocols
- Develop material and labor requirements: Identify materials, equipment, tools, and labor necessary to execute work and support procurement activities with clear technical specifications, quantities, manufacturer information, and acceptable substitutions when appropriate
- Provide schedule and status visibility: Estimate work duration, identify dependencies and constraints, communicate schedule impacts, and provide timely updates regarding progress, material availability, risks, and completion
- Provide effective customer support: Communicate professionally with the customer, supervisors, engineering personnel, vendors, and other trades. Present technical findings and recommendations and follow approved direction through completion
- Work independently and collaboratively: Execute assigned work with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and, when required, lead or coordinate small teams
- Support emergency and surge requirements: Maintain flexibility to support occasional work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, for emergency, outage, or mission-critical requirements
- Support broader site requirements: Perform duties outside the primary electrical trade when required to support facility operations or time-sensitive mission requirements
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices, work processes, reliability, safety, and efficiency by applying lessons learned from daily operations
- Licensure: Possess, at minimum, a current Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent credential acceptable for the work being performed

Desired Qualifications

- Additional electrical, HVAC, controls, or related trade certifications
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, government, or mission-critical facilities
- Project coordination, project management, or small-team leadership experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based technical and product research
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility maintenance
- Experience operating applicable material-handling or heavy equipment
- Ability to coordinate with engineering and other trades when electrical work interfaces with mechanical, controls, IT infrastructure, or facility systems

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to perform work requiring standing, bending, climbing, reaching, and working in equipment rooms and other facility environments
- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and required PPE

Salary & Benefits
The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
