About this role
Waste Connections is seeking a detail-oriented Dispatcher/Scale Attendant in Sandwich, MA to support daily operations by coordinating routes, communicating with drivers, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour.
Schedule – Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:30 PM
The minimum responsibilities are:
- Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
- Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.
- Calculate payments for customers.
- Closing duties include balancing cash drawer, as well as reconciling the credit card machine or POS system.
- Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry.
- Electronically route and reroute stops as operational needs change.
- Communicate with drivers using a two-way radio.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers professionally.
- Coordinate with supervisors and customers to resolve operational issues.
- Process customer information through company systems and learn dispatch-related software and procedures.
- Complete time sensitive tasks and meet daily operational deadlines

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Must have flexible availability to include weekends.
