Position Purpose
The Donor Database Senior Specialist leads the management and optimization of Habitat Charlotte Regions Salesforce fundraising database. This role ensures data integrity, delivers actionable insights on donor trends, and supports strategic fundraising decisions that enhance donor engagement and drive revenue growth.
This individual combines strong technical expertise with analytical thinking and collaborates closely across teams to deliver an exceptional supporter experience.
Essential Functions
Manage the Donor Database (40%)
- Leverages constituent data to support the organizations goals and explore new opportunities to capture information for efficiently managing relationships and donor engagement
- Assists IT Business Analyst with managing the Salesforce help ticket queue, prioritize requests, and provide backup back-up on Salesforce projects for OAD as needed
- Performs constituent record updates - Import, export and globally add functions such as HFHI revenue data, event related data, volunteer information, and donor relationship engagements
Data Integrity and Training (30%)
- Monitors Salesforce data quality and integrity through auditing, cleansing, and de-duping data
- Develops and performs audits daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Documents Development Operations processes, maintain document retention methods
- Offers and conducts ongoing database-related training for staff in-person and using Salesforce Trailhead
- Cross trains to provide backup support for gift entry and donor acknowledgement
- Manages backend of peer to peer fundraising or event software: Apsona add-on app for Salesforce, GiveSmart, GiveButter and OneCause
Donor Stewardship (30%)
- Executes the hiring, onboarding and training of Development Volunteers and the seasonal Summer Development Intern role. Supervises and manages their workload.
- Creates and delivers constituent recognition and engagement reports for stakeholder review. Supports team members in tracking goals, KPIs and maintain organizational Dashboards.
- Constructs comprehensive data analysis & revenue reporting to assess annual giving, assist Development leadership in tracking donor behavior and supporting moves management strategies
- Responsible for segmentation of the database for cultivation, appeals and stewardship to support Development efforts
- Supports the design and execution of a high-touch donor stewardship program, leveraging communication channels to communicate the impact of our supporters generosity
- Manage the execution of individual, faith, corporate and foundation donor recognition activities in collaboration with the Development departments key relationship managers, ensuring timely fulfillment of recognition commitments
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years experience with data entry and database management, preferably with Salesforce, Raisers Edge or equivalent
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

Work Environment
This position requires working primarily indoors in an office setting, with occasional travel within service area.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in an invoice environment as needed, which requires the ability to speak, hear, with the visual and manual dexterity to manage papers, reports, and typing/ten-key. Must embody the capacity to maintain the following for several hours at a time: use of a personal computer or similar technology, phone, sitting as required
- Ability to read documents and correspondence
- Ability to communicate in person, over the phone and/or via computer
- Lift, move and set up onboarding materials or other special employee events materials, which include but is not limited to lifting up to 20lbs unassisted, stooping, kneeling, bending with the visual and manual dexterity to manage cords, connections, and other equipment
- Drive between locations within the affiliates service area as needed
