COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

7 17 Credit Union is looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to be a highly visible, energetic ambassador for our brand throughout the communities we serve. From festivals and parades to sporting events, sponsorship activations, financial wellness events, employer events, and community gatherings, youll be out where the people are—creating meaningful connections and positive experiences with 7 17.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role for someone who enjoys variety, isn't afraid to strike up a conversation, and takes pride in representing an organization in the community.

What You'll Do

Be the Face of 7 17

- Represent 7 17 in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic manner at community events and activities.

- Staff 7 17 booths, tents, sponsorship areas, festivals, fairs, parades, concerts, sporting events, and other community activations.

- Engage attendees in conversations about 7 17's products, services, membership opportunities, financial wellness resources, and community initiatives.

- Create memorable experiences that strengthen awareness and connection to the 7 17 brand.

- Participate in events throughout the 7 17 Credit Union footprint, including evenings and weekends.

- Connect with Members & Future Members

- Start genuine conversations with current and prospective members.

- Help people discover how 7 17 can support their financial goals and connect them with the appropriate team member when there is an opportunity.

- Identify and capture qualified leads and event-generated opportunities.

- Encourage attendees to learn more about 7 17 and take the next step toward membership.

- Follow up on leads and engagement opportunities as directed.

Bring Our Brand to the Streets

- Participate in 7 17 street team initiatives designed to increase visibility and community engagement.

- Distribute promotional materials, giveaways, and branded merchandise.

- Help create fun, creative, and memorable ways to engage consumers.

- Identify opportunities to increase 7 17's visibility within local communities and neighborhoods.

- Assist with social media content and graphic design for select events.

Support Our Community Partnerships

- Help activate 7 17's community sponsorships and strategic partnerships.

- Represent 7 17 at sporting events, universities, professional sports events, community organizations, festivals, and other sponsored activities.

- Work closely with Marketing, Business Development, Branch teams, and Community Impact & Financial Wellness teams to execute successful community initiatives.

- Help maximize the impact of our sponsorships by creating meaningful interactions with attendees and community members.

Make the Events Happen

- Transport, load, unload, set up, and tear down event materials and equipment.

- Maintain tents, tables, displays, signage, promotional materials, giveaways, and other event supplies.

- Keep event spaces clean, organized, professional, and consistent with 7 17 brand standards.

- Assist with event logistics before, during, and after events.

- Maintain event supply inventory and communicate replenishment needs.​​​​​​​

Track Our Impact

- Maintain accurate records of events, attendance, interactions, leads, referrals, and other engagement activity.

- Document community engagement activities through photographs, notes, and event reports when appropriate.

- Provide feedback on event performance and opportunities for improvement.

- Help identify which events and activations generate the greatest awareness, engagement, and business opportunities.

- Follow applicable safety procedures when working with equipment and at events.

Qualifications

- Is organized and able to manage multiple priorities.

- Takes initiative and looks for ways to make an event or interaction better.

- Is comfortable representing a brand and communicating with a wide variety of people.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Previous experience in customer service, community engagement, hospitality, events, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the 7 17 Credit Union footprint.

- Must be available to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis, based on the community event schedule.

- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods of time.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup and teardown.

What It's Like to Work in This Role

No two days will look exactly the same. One day you may be at a community festival talking with hundreds of attendees; the next you may be supporting a sponsorship activation, financial wellness event, sporting event, or employer event.

You'll spend a lot of time on your feet, talking to people, solving problems, setting things up, tearing things down, and making sure every interaction reflects the 7 17 experience.

This role regularly involves working both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
