Iron Mountain Entertainment Services (IMES) is seeking a skilled and passionate Audio Engineer to join our Operations team in Feltham.

In this role, you will be responsible for the archiving, sympathetic handling, triage, and restoration of delicate, irreplaceable master tapes and assets, converting customer media into high-quality digital formats adhering to industry standards. You will serve as a primary technical contact for record producers, engineers, and musicians to deliver seamless audio transfers and archival workflows.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

- Archive & Digitise Media Assets: Perform high-standard transfers, conversions, and archiving of customer media adhering strictly to industry standards.
- Handle & Restore Master Tapes: Provide sympathetic handling, triage, and delicate restoration of irreplaceable master tapes and legacy assets.
- Operate & Maintain Equipment: Utilize and maintain legacy recording systems (e.g., 1/4" and 1/2" stereo analogue tape machines, 2" 24-Track multitrack machines, ADAT/DA-88, Radar hard disk recorders) alongside modern DAWs.
- Utilise Audio Software: Highly leverage software tools including Digidesign Pro Tools, Apple Logic, Steinberg Cubase/Wavelab, and Merging Pyramix for transfers and audio processing.
- Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key point of contact for clients via email, phone, and face-to-face; collaborate directly with record producers, engineers, and musicians to define and meet their exact requirements.
- Track & Report Deliverables: Log and track master tapes across databases/systems, generate hard drive reports for A&R/producer deliveries, and collaborate with EIT engineering and data teams to design/develop workflows.

What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

Essential Requirements:

- Experience: Previous professional audio studio recording and sound mixing experience, with a track record in a similar audio role.
- Technical Expertise: Highly proficient in Pro Tools and highly computer literate on both PC and MAC platforms.
- Acoustic & Production Acumen: A keen ear and deep understanding of music production, paired with up-to-date knowledge of active record producers and studios.
- Attributes: Precise administration skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and perform exceptionally under pressure.

Desirable Requirements:

- Graduate-level education or equivalent relevant industry experience/professional qualifications.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with media formats and recording technologies/techniques from the 1950s to the modern day.
- Experience with analogue tape machine line-ups.
- Continuous professional development track record.
