Join our dynamic team to support engineering and production teams in maintaining and improving manufacturing processes. You will troubleshoot challenges, create and maintain work instructions, execute engineering tests, and ensure product quality. Your role will be pivotal in driving process improvements and training operators in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering and production teams in sustaining and improving manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related challenges.
- Create, revise, and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
- Execute engineering tests and document results.
- Inspect and review in-process products to verify quality requirements are met.
- Assist with the evaluation and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and 5 Why methodologies.
- Take ownership of small engineering projects under the direction of engineering staff.
- Train and support manufacturing operators on production processes.
- Audit and verify operator work for process compliance.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support process improvements.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions.
- Experience in collecting, tracking, and analyzing production data in Excel.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic statistical analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to train operators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree, technical certification, or related education preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or medical device environments preferred.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated job stability and interest in long-term career growth.
Work Environment
This position requires working within a cleanroom manufacturing environment, adhering to gowning and contamination control procedures. You will spend significant time on the production floor alongside engineers and operators, with exposure to advanced manufacturing equipment and engineering processes. The role follows a first shift schedule, requiring full cleanroom gowning, including masks, gloves, and protective apparel.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
