Reliability Engineering Intern

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The Fleet Services Group (FSG) at Daimler Truck North America develops and markets connected services and extended service coverage solutions. These offerings provide customers with digital services and protection against potential losses due to engine and truck breakdowns, enhancing overall customer experience.

The Reliability Engineering Intern will support the team in analyzing data, identifying trends, and contributing to initiatives that improve product quality, reliability, and profitability. This role offers hands-on experience working with real-world datasets across warranty, reliability, product, and engineering domains, while gaining exposure to the commercial trucking service market.

The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in delivering insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

- Assist in analyzing data from multiple sources (dealers, customers, technicians, etc.) to identify trends and potential root causes
- Support development of summary reports and dashboards to communicate findings and highlight key issues
- Utilize analytics tools to help with forecasting, trend analysis, and identification of cost drivers (e.g., parts, labor)
- Assist in evaluating cost exposure and reliability data to support risk assessment and portfolio optimization efforts
- Help identify outliers in repair activity and support development of tools to detect additional opportunities or risks
- Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs

Knowledge You Should Bring

- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher or recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
- Pursing or received a degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Science, Statistics, Economics, and Data analytics
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Solid Organizational Skills
- Creative mindset
- Ability to work on individual projects and in a team environment
- Comfortable presenting to groups
- Knowledge or Experience with: Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Tableau or Power BI
- SQL
- Database systems (Hana or Snowflake preferred)
- Statistical programming with R, Python, etc. is a plus
