This role offers a balance of branch-based operations and field-based patient care, allowing you to make a direct impact on patients transitioning safely from hospital to home.

You'll provide essential respiratory care, equipment setup, patient education, and clinical support while serving a diverse territory across Rhode Island and portions of Massachusetts.

Key Highlights

- Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with flexibility.
- Work Arrangement: On-site; approximately 40% office and 60% field.
- Territory Coverage: Throughout Rhode Island, south toward Boston, and west to Milford.
- Travel: Typical driving distance ranges from 50 to 70 miles one way.

Salary Range

- $35.00 – $42.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.

On-Call Transparency

- Rotating on-call schedule every 4th week.
- Shared rotation with the other three Respiratory Therapists in the branch.
- Generally low-volume on-call activity.

What You'll Do

- Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
- Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
- Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
- Performs other duties as required

What We Look For

- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Ability and willingness to obtain the second state license within the first 90 days of employment.

- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Open to candidates with any level of Respiratory Therapy experience
- Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
- Strong teamwork, customer service, communication, patient education, and organizational skills.

Education

- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

- Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
- Hold a current CPR Certification
- Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
