In addition to sales of hardware, tools, and all of the usual hardware store products, we are proud to provide our community with access to an extensive fleet of equipment rentals for both homeowners and contractors. Job Summary:

Hardware Sales is seeking a dedicated Retail Sales Associate to join our team in the Power Tools Department. We take pride in offering an extensive range of products and need great retail associates to help our customers find what they need. You will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their power tool needs. Your primary responsibilities will include providing expert advice, guiding customers through product selections, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Prior experience of power tools is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Customer Assistance:  Greet customers, identify their power tool needs, and provide informed recommendations and solutions.

- Product Knowledge:  Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our power tool product inventory, including related accessories.

- Technical Support:  Offer technical assistance to customers, answering questions about product features, specifications, and operating procedures.

- Stocking and Merchandising:  Keep the department well-organized, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring pricing accuracy.

- Customer Service:  Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction. Excellent customer service is expected.

- Safety and Compliance:  Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure the safe handling and storage of power tools.

- Inventory Management:  Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report low stock items to the department manager or assist with purchasing.

- Product Training:  Stay up-to-date with new power tool products, technologies, and industry trends through ongoing training and education.

- Computer Systems:  You will need to be comfortable with computers and able to navigate multiple programs for inventory management, sales, and ordering as well as doing independent research on products in your department.

This role is regular full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.

- Availability Monday - Saturday.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Experience working in a hardware store preferred.

- Knowledge of power tools and their applications is highly desired.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.

- Basic math skills for inventory management, measurements, and sales.

This position will require you to be on your feet all day long, as well as lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and bending. You should be able to lift 50 pounds from the ground as well as put heavy objects on shelves above your head. This job will require climbing ladders and going up and down stairs on a daily basis.
