About this role
Position Summary :
This role is responsible for adding protective and decorative edging onto the exposed edges of furniture.
Position Details :
- Removes route card from load
- Reads description of what edges need to be edgebanded
- Reads bottom of route card to see what type of edgebanding is to be applied
- Adjusts edgebander to correct thickness
- Installs selected type of edgebanding for that part
- Sees starting point and ending point for edgeband to be applied
- When applying edgebanding, keeps even pressure from start to ending point
- Trims excess band off top and bottom part.
- Visually inspects part for good adhesion and quality
- Counts parts and signs route card
- Takes parts to next operation.
- Observes plant safety rules while keeping work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Position Requirements :
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
- Knowledge of frame parts.
- Must be able to use a tape measure, air screwdrivers, and staple guns
- Must be able to work at a fast pace

- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours.
- Must be able to push / pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
