Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including drywall repair, painting, ceiling tile replacement, door and hardware repairs, and other carpentry-related tasks.

- Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing systems, including faucets, drains, toilets, and other facility fixtures.

- Perform minor electrical maintenance and repairs, including replacing lighting components, outlets, switches, and other non-complex electrical equipment in accordance with safety procedures.

- Respond promptly to internal customer service requests and work orders, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and communication throughout the repair process.

- Support the maintenance and operation of facility infrastructure systems, including compressed dry air (CDA), HVAC equipment, and other building support systems.

- Assist with troubleshooting industrial and facility equipment using technical documentation, schematics, drawings, and equipment manuals.

- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, offices, common areas, and mechanical spaces to identify and correct maintenance deficiencies.

- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of office, laboratory, and support areas.

- Support office moves, furniture installations, workstation modifications, and other workplace service requests.

- Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed to support maintenance, repair, and facility improvement activities.

- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment issues using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order systems.

- Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.

- Participate in preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

- Support emergency response activities and provide after-hours support as required for facility-related issues.

- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in facility operations and customer service.

- Using Building Management System, respond to facilities system alarms, and take necessary corrective action to prevent impact to manufacturing operations. (Interruptions to Production)

- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot facility and industrial support equipment, interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, and perform repairs or coordinate escalation when specialized expertise is required.

- Perform Lean Projects and 6S of assigned areas.

- Must be willing to climb ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, lift 50 lbs or more at times, walk extensively, and work on your feet daily to support a 4-building campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field; in lieu of a diploma, an additional 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered.

- 3+ years of maintenance or trade experience

- Applicant must be able to work M-F 7am-3:30pm and nights or weekends as needed. (available for on call)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

- Computer skills with both non-Windows and Windows operating systems.

- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities.

- Hands-on participation, highly motivated, and strong sense of ownership.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
