CLASS A DRIVER

We are seeking a dependable and organized Class A truck to join Aries. Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record.

Specific Job Duties:

- Safely operate class A type equipment including Sprinter van, dually and box truck to destination as assigned and required by dispatch, normally in periods of up to 8 hours of driving.

- Safely transport cargo from various origins and destinations, properly documenting receipt of and delivery or cargo free from damage and claims

- Properly load and unload van, either individually or with assistance of dock workers, with or without mechanical freight-handling equipment, as required.

- Proper securement of freight to withstand the rigors of transportation

- Perform occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight of varying weights.

- Ensure that all shipment documentation required to move with shipment is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipment when delivered.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Safe and legal operation of class A equipment including Sprinter van, dually and box truck.

- Must maintain a valid Texas drivers license, and a motor vehicle record (MVR) that allows continued insurability with Aries insurance carrier.

- Safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.

- Proper loading and unloading of freight to assure safety and minimal risk of damage to cargo and danger to people.

- Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to departmental operations and freight movements.

- Development and maintenance of professional and effective relations between the company and customer.

- Professional and representation of the company through responsible driving.

- Ability to successfully perform various departmental tasks as assigned by management.

- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment

- Receive and respond to dispatch requests for transportation both during and after normal business workhours which may include weekends

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for a period of up to 8 hours.

- Must be able to enter and exit vehicles cab as many as 20 times a day or more. Cab floor level is generally from 18 to 24 inches above ground level.

- Must be able to occasionally reach for freight at waist level or below.
