Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Architect / Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in HPE Morpheus (formerly Morpheus Data, now part of HPE) to lead the migration of enterprise workloads onto and across our virtualized infrastructure. This role is intentionally structured for a highly independent, self-directed contributor — the core infrastructure team is fully committed to the concurrent VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) build-out, so this person will own the Morpheus workload migration effort largely on their own, with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and drive end-to-end workload migration using HPE Morpheus, from discovery and assessment through cutover and validation

- Design and implement Morpheus-based migration blueprints and orchestration workflows to automate the movement of workloads from legacy (non-VCF) vSphere infrastructure into the new VCF environment, as well as across cloud and hybrid targets — coordinating with underlying migration tooling (e.g., HCX, vMotion) where needed for actual workload transfer

- Configure and administer the Morpheus platform itself — instances, provisioning, catalogs, policies, integrations, and RBAC — as needed to support migration work

- Independently identify migration risks, dependencies, and sequencing, and build a migration plan without requiring close direction from the core infrastructure team

- Integrate Morpheus with underlying VMware infrastructure (vSphere 8 / VCF, Broadcom-owned) to enable workload visibility, provisioning, and lifecycle management across environments

- Build automation and tooling (scripts, IaC, orchestration) to make migrations repeatable, auditable, and low-touch

- Validate migrated workloads for performance, connectivity, and configuration parity; troubleshoot issues independently

- Document migration runbooks, decisions, and outcomes clearly enough that others can follow without live walkthroughs

- Proactively communicate status, blockers, and risks asynchronously, given limited bandwidth from the core team to sync in real time

- Coordinate lightly with the infrastructure/platform team on shared dependencies (network, storage, VCF timelines) without requiring them for daily execution

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong, hands-on HPE Morpheus experience — platform administration, workload/application onboarding, and migration execution

- Demonstrated experience migrating production workloads in an enterprise environment (VM-based and/or containerized)

- Solid working knowledge of VMware vSphere 8 / VCF (Broadcom) environments as a migration source or target, including familiarity with migration tooling such as HCX or vMotion

- Strong Infrastructure as Code skills to automate provisioning and migration steps

- Strong scripting/automation ability to reduce manual migration effort and build repeatable processes

- Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance — self-scoping, self-prioritizing, and unblocking own work

- Strong documentation and asynchronous communication skills

Nice to Have / Preferred

- Experience with the broader VMware/Broadcom ecosystem (VKS, Aria Suite, etc.) as a migration target/source

- Experience with GitOps/CI-CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Flux, Argo CD) to support migration automation

- Background in large-scale enterprise migration programs (data center consolidation, cloud migration, M&A infrastructure integration)

- Experience building migration runbooks/playbooks used by other teams

- Working Model: Largely independent; core infrastructure team is engaged on parallel VCF work and has limited availability for support
