Summary:
This position is responsible for the installation and repair of door hardware within the hospital. Performs minor routine and preventive maintenance to include operating, cleaning, inspecting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, lubricating, reporting problems, etc. May be called upon to assist others in the completion of their work.

Responsibilities:
* Perform inspections, minor repairs and replacements on building structures and furnishings such as internal and external doors, door hardware, door frames, and cabinets.
* Repair and maintain automatic doors.
* Bore and core doors for the installation of locking systems hardware.
* Adjust door closures and other door hardware.
* Install, repair, and maintain various types of doors, including automatic door openers, sliding glass doors, as well as electronic eye/push button mechanisms.

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year related experience, or vocational or technical education Required
* Mechanical knowledge, such as construction, automotive, carpentry, general maintenance, etc. Required
* Knowledge of local and State building codes, including NFPA Required
* Installing door closer and other door hardware, mortising doors, etc. Required

EDUCATION
* High school diploma or GED  Required
* Course Completion in Nation Fire Protection Association (NFPA 80) required 6 months after hire Required Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Valid U.S. driver's license Upon Hire Required
