JOB TITLE: FRONT DESK/CUSTOMER SERVICE REGISTRATION ATTENDANT PART-TIME REGISTRAR CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT

SUPERVISOR: SUPERINTENDENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

HOURS: SCHEDULED SHIFTS ARE LISTED BELOW

MONDAY 12:30PM-4:45PM, TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY 4:30 PM – 8:300 PM (POSSIBLY 8:45PM), FRIDAYS 12:30PM-4:45PM AND A ROTATING WEEKEND SHIFTL SATURDAY: 12:00 AM – 4:00 PM

EMPLOYMENT GRADE: 2 OR 3 BASED ON HOURS

PAY RANGE: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Hours: This is a Year-round, Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Position, 16-20 hours per week

Position Summary:  The Front Desk Attendant is a part-time position responsible for performing routine clerical work, answering the telephones, greeting patrons, and providing customer assistance in a polite, professional, and friendly manner.  The Front Desk attendant will answer basic programming and facility questions, process cancellations and refunds, ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of every evening and complete daily batch closeouts.  The position functions as a liaison between staff, customers and the Barrington Park District

Essential Functions:

- Answer the telephone and greet customers in a timely, professional, and courteous manner

- Assist customers and answer inquiries regarding all recreation and fitness programs, the registration process, facilities, facility rentals, parks, etc.

- Responsible for reading, understanding, and knowing all the programs listed in the Barrington park District Brochure

- Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of every evening and complete daily batch closeouts

- Responsible for all aspects of the registration process utilizing the RecTrac Software

- Will operate various office equipment such as postage machine, copy machines, fax machines, computers, adding machine, communication devices and credit card terminals

- Responsible for informing the proper personnel of any accidents, safety concerns, maintenance problems, or patron complaints having to do with the Barrington Park District

- Assist Recreation Department with several clerical duties and special events (i.e. cancel classes, process refunds, make phone calls, create flyers)

- Responsible for reading, understanding, and abiding by the Barrington Park District Personnel policy manual

- Uphold safety and risk management strategies in support of and compliance with Park District policies, procedures, ordinances and practices

- Perform other Park District related functions as requested/determined by the Superintendent of Recreation

Qualifications

Educational & Experience Requirements:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent

- Specialized course work in general office practices preferred

- Two years of experience in an office environment preferred

- Must possess strong computer skills for date entry

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point. (RecTrac experience is a plus)
