Production Trainer
Job Purpose
The Trainer shall be responsible for instructing team members on the operations functions of the line and adhering to all standard work procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Promotes safe work practices and safety-first environment for all duties performed and trains others in safe work practices.
- Ability to observe/evaluate a process and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ability to write Job Instructions.
- Trains team members on safe work practices and regularly monitors employee work practices and performs environmental safety inspections to ensure trainee safety.
- Coordinates with management to complete tasks associated with the training of team members on the assigned workstation(s).
- Provides input into the evaluation of team members during the orientation.
- Train employees using the authorized training process and document training as required.
- Performs Quality Audits.
- Ensures Operators are running to Standard Work requirements.
- Ability to modify standard work when needed via securing engineering and management approval.
- Serves as Trainer and Mentor to new and existing team members.
- Ability to modify standard work when needed via securing engineering and management approval.
- Support various production lines as assigned to provide hands on training support to assigned team members.
- Responsible for cross-training employees to become proficient in performing all work-related tasks.
- Setup machines and be competent at teaching others to independently complete this task.
- Identifies and corrects problems which impact the efficiency of process to include equipment, materials, or skills.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and observes all company and safety rules.
- Perform preventive and minor equipment maintenance as required.
- Participate in Lean events as well as housekeeping and safety audits as needed and practice CI principles.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience operating multiple types of industrial machinery
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to lift up to 40lbs as necessary
- Ability to work in work, heat, noise, dust, fumes, paint, chemicals and oils on a daily basis
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
