The Facilities Specialist II ensures the efficient operations of building and equipment maintenance, grounds, Facilities’ vehicles, service and maintenance requests, security monitoring and access systems, move coordination, RFPs, and the Safety Committee. This position acts as a liaison with service technicians, contractors, and vendors and responds to facility and security emergencies with limited supervision or guidance.

Essential Duties:

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and initiative, the ability to complete assigned work independently, while also contributing to the overall success of the Facilities Team.

- Maintain a complete understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including documentation, completion of tasks, and reporting.

- Coordinate workflow, responsibilities, and assignments with staff and vendors to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.

- Perform basic to high-intermediate level in-house repairs and ensure the appropriate preventative maintenance in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facilities building upkeep. Coordinate with vendors, as needed to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.

- Maintain proficient working knowledge in the following areas:

- Plumbing: knowledge of fixtures and piping to troubleshoot clogged drains and toilets. Ability to replace and rebuild faucets, urinals, toilets with guidance. Minimize water damage through proactive troubleshooting in the event of a leak.

- Electrical: responsible for changing light bulbs and batteries. Proficient understanding of light bulbs and fixtures, outlets, switches, breakers, and batteries.

- HVAC: basic understanding of belts, system programming and associated equipment.

- Office and branch configurations and set-up: Responsible for the installation of signage, shelves, video audio equipment, and desk moves and modifications.

- Facility Building Upkeep: fluent in paint types/variations, drywall including ceiling, floor and roof repairs. Tile, carpet and vinyl replacement and repair. Door adjustments as needed.

- Appliances:  familiar with the repair and replacement of disposals and refrigerators

- Janitorial: ability to safely perform emergency and/or storm clean up. Pressure washing, and efficient cleaning of signage and trash bins as needed.

- Organic Growth Remediation: Experience recognizing signs of mold, achieving remediation, and preventing new growth.

- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Facilities vehicles.

- Provide assistance with indirect building systems including security cameras, door access & locks, and fire systems. Respond timely to security and facility emergencies, including after-hours events.

- Support the security programs through troubleshooting and diagnosis of building maintenance needs. Take action and make necessary repairs required to secure the health and safety of members and staff.

- Assemble office equipment and furniture. Coordinate heavy equipment moves and installation, as necessary.

- Order, receive, and deliver warehouse supplies and materials, as necessary. Assist the Marketing Department with supply delivery needs.

- Organize and conduct quarterly Safety Committee meetings ensuring objectives of Committee Charter are being met.

- Actively take part in negotiating bid invitations, coordinate minor construction projects, equipment purchases or requests for proposals (RFP). Present Facilities Manager with recommendations.

- Collaborate with Facilities Supervisor on key areas of responsibility and deliverables pertaining to major Facilities projects.

- Assist in coordinating mid-size department and branch moves, organizing and communicating move schedules with department supervisors.

- Assist in Ad-Que and Mood Media systems maintenance and installations.

- Actively participate in coaching sessions with Facilities Manager and take responsibility for individual career development and training. Seek opportunities to learn new skills.

- Serve as a resource and guide to Facilities team for general inquiries and requests, using discretion to handle escalated situations as necessary.

- Assist in mentoring new employees through the new employee onboarding process and through training plans or programs as defined by the Facilities Supervisor.

- Participate in promotions and special events, supporting the overall efforts of the Credit Union.

- Demonstrates strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understands and complies with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.

- Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

Minimum of three to five years of progressive facilities maintenance experience, with a focus on preventative maintenance, repairs, and vendor coordination

Education:

A high school education or GED.
