Nucor Buildings Group - NBG is seeking a Solution Architect – Full Stack to design and build modern enterprise applications for its NBG’s Product Innovation Group. This hands-on role translates the team's technical direction into scalable, secure, maintainable solution architectures and reusable patterns , while actively developing software alongside the team.
Basic Job Functions:
- Translate technical direction into solution architectures, application designs, integration patterns, and reusable engineering approaches.
- Design and develop scalable applications with Python, React/TypeScript, C#/.NET, APIs, data, and Azure services.
- Evaluate technical alternatives and guide decisions involving security, integration, scalability, resiliency, performance, and maintainability.
- Partner with the Technical Supervisor and developers on architecture/design reviews while remaining hands-on in implementation.
- Establish reusable patterns and reference implementations that improve consistency, quality, and development speed across applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including production applications.
- Strong experience with Python, React, TypeScript, C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated experience designing application architectures, APIs, integrations, data flows, and distributed components.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure or a comparable cloud platform.
- Strong understanding of security, scalability, resiliency, performance, and observability.
- Experience with automated Playwright testing, Azure DevOps, Git, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Ability to evaluate technical alternatives, communicate tradeoffs, and turn architecture into practical implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing cloud-native and distributed Azure applications.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, Terraform/Bicep, and messaging/event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Entra ID, OAuth/OIDC, Key Vault, managed identities, and RBAC.
- Experience with Application Insights, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and performance optimization.
- Experience creating reusable architecture patterns and integrating legacy/enterprise systems.
- Experience architecting AI solutions that utilize Azure AI Foundry, RAG, agent frameworks, LLM APIs, and/or MCP deployments.
