Amazon's Security & Privacy Regulatory Enablement (SPRe) team is the single regulatory enablement engine for Amazon's security, privacy, and AI compliance needs. We take any new regulatory requirement from initial publication to demonstrated compliance across three domains — Security, Privacy, and AI — using a repeatable, scalable operating model (Anticipate → Enable → Assure).

Amazon operates regulated payment entities across six major jurisdictions — US, UK, EU, India, Singapore, and MENA — each subject to distinct security compliance regimes including PCI DSS, local regulatory security frameworks, and supervisory authority examinations. The Payments Security Compliance (PSC) function within SPRe manages the full audit and compliance lifecycle for these entities.

We are seeking an experienced Payments Security Compliance Lead to own and scale the operational delivery of payments security audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance programmes across all regulated jurisdictions. This is a people management role leading a team of security compliance specialists, with responsibility for audit lifecycle management, regulatory relationship stewardship, operational excellence, team development, and delivery metrics.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payments security compliance (PCI DSS, financial services regulatory regimes), has led audit/compliance teams at scale across multiple jurisdictions, and can build a high-performing, geographically distributed team. You will own the day-to-day delivery of payments security audits globally, manage relationships with QSAs, external auditors, and regulatory examiners, and drive continuous improvement in compliance operations.

About the team
SPRe operates through three interconnected gears forming a continuous flywheel: **Anticipate** (regulatory engagement and horizon scanning), **Enable** (programme design and control framework development), and **Assure** (external audit delivery and regulatory examination management). This role leads Payments Security Compliance within the Assure function — the largest operational workstream within SPRe, covering 40+ recurring audit programmes across six regulated jurisdictions.

The team you will lead includes security compliance specialists based across India (Bengaluru), Europe (London, Luxembourg), and the US. You will report to SPRe's Senior Manager and work closely with the Payments Business, Payments Security, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Technology teams.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience
- 10+ years of experience in information security compliance, payments security, audit, governance, or risk management — with deep expertise in payments industry security frameworks (PCI DSS, financial services regulatory security regimes)
- 5+ years of people management experience, including managing teams of 5+ professionals across multiple geographies and time zones
- Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end external audit delivery — managing relationships with QSAs, Big 4 auditors, regulatory examiners, or equivalent
- Proven track record of managing PCI DSS compliance programmes — including scoping, SAQ/ROC processes, evidence coordination, and finding remediation
- Experience managing audit/compliance programmes across multiple jurisdictions with different regulatory regimes simultaneously
- Strong skills in security principles — risk-based thinking, control design, defense in depth, least privilege access, preventative vs detective controls

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
- 6+ years of senior leadership development and talent management experience
- Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps
- Experience managing payments security compliance programmes for major technology companies, fintechs, or regulated financial services entities across multiple jurisdictions
- Professional certifications: QSA, PCIP, CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or similar
- Experience with EU/UK payments regulatory landscape — EBA guidelines, PSD2 security requirements, FCA/PRA operational resilience, DORA
- Experience with US payments regulatory landscape — NYDFS Part 500, state money transmitter regulations, GLBA
- - Knowledge of emerging regulatory frameworks (NIS2, DORA, Cyber Resilience Act) and their impact on payments infrastructure
- Experience with GRC platforms, audit management tools, and automation of evidence collection at scale
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and driving operational efficiency in audit delivery
- Ability to maintain trusted relationships with regulators, auditors, and supervisory authorities across multiple jurisdictions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
