Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead, manage and direct HR policies, procedures, and practices for a region. This is a hands-on management role that will involve the standardization and implementation of new and existing policies, processes, and procedures; whilst ensuring that these initiatives are aligned to Corporate HR guidelines, goals and objectives.
What you will be doing
- Lead, manage and develop regional HR initiatives and deliverables
- Ensure that all regional processes and procedures are aligned to and in compliance with Corporate HR standards, policies, and procedures
- Ensure that all stations are in compliance with all federal, state and company regulations and policies
- Advise locations across business units on HR and labor relations issues
- Advise management on issues regarding union-management relations, such as contract negotiations
- Assist with developing and reviewing union contracts and agreements
- Assist with the negotiating collective bargaining agreements with various unions including USW, Teamsters, SEIU and IAM
- Partner with management to ensure implementation and compliance to HR policies, practices and union agreements
- Meet with elected union officials and lead labor management meetings
- Oversee dispute resolution involving employees, management, unions and government agencies
- Manage grievance procedures
- Stay apprised of employment law changes and industry trends in
- Facilitate HR and labor relations training and development for management and supervisory staff
- Train, mentor and develop HR staff
- Collaborate with Recruitment and Training to ensure that recruitment and training initiatives are supported and implemented across the region
- Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports

What we are looking for:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Experience in aviation, ground handling, fueling or cargo operations strongly preferred
- Experience working with mergers and acquisitions a plus
- Must be proficient in federal and state labor regulations (interpretation and application) with specific focus on Railway Labor Act issues
- Must be skilled in new hire onboarding, LOA/FMLA processes, Cobra, benefits, and workers compensation processes
- An understanding of specific labor relations needs, and challenges related to a companys collective bargaining agreements and business strategy
- Negotiation, mediation, arbitration, problem solving, strategic thinking and leadership skills required
- Experience in employee investigations, grievance handling, arbitration hearings and CBA negotiations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to inspire trust and confidence with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as working cross-functionally with senior management within the organization
- Ability to perform duties independently and with a great degree of accuracy, meeting established deadlines, working effectively under continual interruptions and heavy workload
- Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently
- Must pass pre-employment and drug tests
- Ability to lift 35
