Electrical Integration Engineer – Virginia Beach, VA

Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Integration Engineer to support the design, installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems used with power-generation equipment.
This role requires strong experience with electrical schematics, control wiring, testing, and electrical equipment. Knowledge of power generation, electronic controls, and fuel-system integration is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Design and support control panels for basic electromechanical systems.
- Review electrical designs, proposals, and specifications for compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Calculate electrical loads and wiring requirements.
- Inspect and functionally test completed equipment before shipment using drawings and specifications.
- Identify electrical discrepancies, defects, and installation issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to electricians on schematic interpretation, installation, testing, labeling, tools, and safe work practices.
- Develop and coordinate electrical cross-training for production personnel.
- Review incoming third-party electrical materials and verify project requirements and installation needs.
- Provide technical input on electrical component layout and integration.
- Use electronic test equipment to perform functional and indication testing.
- Support basic programming and setup of electrical devices such as displays, sensors, and HMIs .
- Communicate technical requirements with engineering, production, sales, supervisors, employees, and customers.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience involving electrical equipment design, installation, and testing.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with electrical test equipment and testing methods, including multimeters and ammeters .
- Knowledge of AC/DC electricity and electrical theory .
- Working knowledge of current NEC requirements .
- Experience with control panels and electrical integration for electromechanical systems.
- Thorough understanding of power-generation equipment, including:
Generators
- Transformers
- Switchboards
- Controllers
- Circuit breakers
- Motors
- Heating equipment
- Conduit systems
- Power generation, electronic controls, and fuel-system integration experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and engineering teams.
- Customer-facing professionalism and strong problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Occasional travel between local facilities and project/job sites.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while supporting active manufacturing operations.
