What will you do?
As Legal Counsel for Protime you will be working closely with the other Legal Counsels in Europe and Mauritius to support the SD Worx and Protime business on a wide range of legal matters .
Our legal team provides proactive and practical legal support and advises the business of the SD Worx group on a wide range of legal questions, with a focus on commercial law, contract law and IT law. You will also partner with internal and external stakeholders to help implement strategic projects across the group. This allows you to have an impact on the growing business of both Protime and SD Worx.
You will become part of a dynamic, multinational legal team. Our current corporate legal team works from Belgium (HQ), Germany, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Mauritius, United Kingdom and Ireland and consists of 22 legal counsels in different expert areas.
How will you do this?
- Advise internal stakeholders in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Spain on a wide range of legal matters , including risk assessments, ad-hoc queries, and strategic project support.
- Offer first line guidance on GDPR-related matters, including data protection agreements and compliance questions, in cooperation with expert colleagues on these area’s.
- Monitor and assess local legislative developments that may impact our operations in the respective countries.
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements such as customer agreements, supplier agreements, general terms and conditions, etc.
- Give accurate, proactive and pragmatic legal advice in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide legal support for the effective handling of claims and following-up litigations with external experts/lawyers .
- Create and update legal templates and best practices in line with corporate guidelines .
- Contribute to the communication and implementation of the legal policies, templates, guidelines and processes and provide training to our internal stakeholders in this regard.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal department.

This is you?
- A Master’s degree in Belgian law . Knowledge of other jurisdictions is considered to be an asset, but is not a requirement.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an attorney and/or as an in-house legal counsel with a focus on the following areas of law: Commercial law, Contract law and/or IT law.
- Effective communication skills in Dutch, French and English (orally and in writing).
- Business mindset with the ability to turn legal complexity into pragmatic advice that is understandable for people without a legal background.
- Organizational skills that allow you to plan and prioritize projects, as well as strong analytical , negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Hands-on and can-do mentality.
- Be a team player, yet able to work autonomously .
- High level of integrity , professionalism, intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow.
