Reporting to the Head of Risk Challenge, Consumer and Enterprise Operations, this role will support the delivery of independent Line 2 risk oversight, challenge and insights across a diverse portfolio of businesses, strategic initiatives and enterprise programs.

The successful candidate will help drive effective risk management outcomes by providing risk-based challenge, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and supporting informed decision making across the business.

The opportunity

This is an exciting 6‑month Fixed Term Contract within the AUSPAC CRO Risk Business Challenge team, offering broad exposure to enterprise risk management, governance, strategic projects, and executive-level decision making. Working within Line 2 Risk, you will provide independent oversight and challenge across Consumer and Enterprise Operations, helping the business make informed decisions and strengthen risk management outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of Risk Challenge, Consumer and Enterprise Operations, you will partner with stakeholders across the business to provide risk oversight, challenge, and insights across a diverse portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to major transformation programs, regulatory initiatives, and enterprise-wide projects while building relationships with senior leaders and gaining valuable exposure to how risk is managed across a large and complex organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide independent Line 2 risk oversight and challenge to support effective risk management and decision making
- Review and challenge risk assessments, RCSAs, incidents, issues, and action plans to drive stronger risk outcomes
- Support the risk oversight of strategic projects, transformation initiatives, and major business change programs
- Analyse risk data, trends, and emerging issues to develop meaningful insights, reporting, and executive dashboards
- Prepare high-quality reporting and briefing materials for senior leadership, committees, and Board forums
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to strengthen governance, risk culture, and risk management capability

You are a curious and commercially minded professional who enjoys understanding how organisations operate and solving complex business challenges. You bring strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management skills, and a practical approach to risk management, with the ability to influence outcomes and provide constructive challenge.

Key requirements:

- Experience in risk management, governance, audit, operations, project delivery, customer, people, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify themes, trends, and meaningful insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple teams and functions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in enterprise risk management, governance, business performance, and continuous improvement
