What you’ll do

The Global Stores and Supply Chain Solution Delivery organization is responsible for delivering technology solutions to drive growth, enable efficiency, and improve customer experience at the front-line in our stores and managing various supply chain related solutions within TJX IT.

The Data & Analytics function thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working diligently to address their needs, which support TJX growth and operational stability. As we expand our capabilities, we are growing our presence in India to include a new focus on Data Analytics. Associates in India will work closely with global teams to mature and scale our services.

What you’ll need

We are seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to lead data and analytics strategy for Global Stores & Supply Chain, enabling data-driven decisions at scale across a $50B+ retail ecosystem. This role combines technical leadership, data architecture, AI innovation, and organizational influence , driving modern data platforms on Azure with a strong focus on Gen AI, analytics, and business impact .

You will collaborate closely with product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to strategically plan and deliver product capabilities by bridging business needs with technical solutions. This role requires breaking down complex challenges into actionable components that enable efficient product development while ensuring high standards of quality and security. Within your scope, you will lead and make key decisions related to architecture, design, and overall technical direction

Strategy & Architecture

- Define and execute the strategy, roadmap, and architecture aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, design standards, and development processes .
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead POCs to drive next-generation data and AI solutions .

Delivery & Execution

- Design and deliver scalable data integration platforms, pipelines using Azure.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives , owning epics and driving execution from concept to delivery.
- Ensure data quality, security, scalability, and performance across systems.

AI & Innovation

- Drive adoption of Gen AI and Agentic AI to enhance analytics, automation, and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain
- 14+ years of strong development experience with medium to large bespoke developed software solutions while working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) environment
- Leads discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic and complex business problems.
- Identifies emerging technologies for consideration for new technology direction and implements proof of concepts to prove the new technology.
- Maintains broad knowledge in the business applications / services that comprise a given technical domain.
- Provides technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business applications in a given technical domain.
- Acts in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues.
- Design, code, test, deploy & support working software /technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers.
- Fully Owns Epics with decreasing guidance. Takes initiative through identifying gaps and opportunities
- SOAP / RESTful API’s
- Hands-on experience in coding/configuring medium to large scale data integrations end to end whilst maintaining good understanding of Coding standards, Performance tuning and database concepts
- Strong communication and influence skills. Solid team leadership with mentorship skills
- Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals
- Shows a positive, open-minded and can-do attitude
- 12+ years’ experience in any combination of the following technologies: Dell Boomi
- APIGEE
- Kafka
- Azure Data Factory
- MIA
- SQL Queries

Nice to have skills

- Basic scripting (JavaScript / Python / Spark)
- Azure / DataBricks API Management
- Azure Service Bus
