Senior GIS Developer / GIS Techno-Functional Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced GIS professional with strong application development and techno-functional experience to work on a large-scale geospatial network application.

The platform is used to manage, visualize and integrate network and geospatial information across multiple systems, supporting areas such as network design, capacity planning, infrastructure visualization and operational decision-making.

This role requires someone who can work across both business and technical teams—understanding requirements, translating them into technical solutions, contributing to development and integrations, and supporting the application across its lifecycle.

KEY RESPONISILITIES:

- Gather, analyze and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Support the design, development, testing and deployment of GIS application modules.
- Work with geospatial data, network information and GIS services .
- Develop and support backend services and application integrations.
- Monitor data flows and troubleshoot application or integration issues.
- Ensure data consistency across different systems.
- Support database design, data modelling and performance improvements.
- Work on automation and application optimization.
- Maintain technical documentation and support defect resolution.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects and other technical teams.

MUST- HAVE SKILLS

- Strong understanding of GIS, geospatial data and network topology.

- Hands-on experience with QGIS, ArcGIS or other GIS platforms.
- Experience with GeoServer, ArcGIS Server or similar GIS server technologies.
- Experience working with GIS web services such as WMS / WFS / map services / feature services.
- Strong backend development exposure using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, preferably including PostGIS.
- Experience with database design, schema design and data modelling.
- Experience building or integrating REST / JSON APIs.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Jenkins or similar tools.

PREFFERED SKILLS:

- Experience working with telecom networks, utility networks, network infrastructure or similar network-based GIS applications.
- Experience in Agile development environments.
- Exposure to Azure, including ADF, Storage or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone who combines strong GIS knowledge with application-development capability and can comfortably work between business requirements and technical implementation.

Experience with Web GIS, enterprise GIS, network GIS, GeoServer/ArcGIS Server, spatial databases and backend development would be particularly relevant.
