Accounting Manager

The Opportunity

Fossefall's growth across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Luxembourg has outgrown the current finance team. With each entity reporting under IFRS and local GAAP, we need a dedicated owner for disciplined closes, reconciliations and statutory reporting.

The Accounting Manager will oversee multi-entity accounting and support the Oracle NetSuite implementation by designing the chart of accounts, close calendar and controls, allowing the Finance Manager to focus on planning, treasury and business partnering. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role oversees bookkeeping quality, monthly close, reconciliations and statutory reporting for Fossefalls Nordic and Luxembourg entities. It standardizes audit-ready procedures across jurisdictions, leads the accounting team, initially two direct reports, builds scalable capacity for additional entities, and serves as the primary authority and external counterpart on technical accounting matters.

What you'll do

- Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close for the Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Luxembourg entities.

- Prepare and review statutory financial statements under local GAAP and reconcile these to IFRS group reporting.

- Design, document and maintain group accounting procedures, close calendars and internal controls.

- Own balance sheet integrity: reconciliations, intercompany, accruals, fixed assets, leases and FX.

- Lead, structure and develop the accounting team: set priorities, review work and build capability.

- Act as a primary counterpart to tax advisors and auditors in each jurisdiction.

- Own accounting workstreams in the Oracle NetSuite implementation and post go-live configuration, covering chart of accounts, close process and approval workflows.

- Support VAT and other statutory filings in cooperation with local advisors.

- Contribute to group, audit and board reporting cycles.

About you

- Several years in a comparable accounting management or senior accountant role in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.

- Solid working knowledge of IFRS, and the ability to work with local GAAP requirements in more than one jurisdiction.

- Demonstrated ability to design and implement accounting procedures, close routines and controls, not only to operate them.

- Experience leading or structuring a small accounting team, with full ownership of a close cycle and of statutory reporting.

- Comfortable working across countries and remote teams, with professional English in writing and speech.

- Based in Barcelona.

- Structured and process-minded, hands-on and pragmatic, and willing to do the work as well as direct it.

- Culturally adaptable, a clear communicator with non-finance stakeholders, and independent and accountable with sound judgement on when to escalate.

- Valuable, but not required: Swedish or Norwegian language skills (a significant plus),

- Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite, experience with Nordic local GAAP (NGAAP, Swedish K3, Finnish FAS) or Luxembourg GAAP, experience from a group finance function during an ERP implementation or migration, a recognized accounting qualification.

What success looks like

Within the first 6 months you are the accountable owner for accounting operations across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Luxembourg. Close, reconciliations and statutory reporting run on a documented calendar with clear controls, local GAAP statements reconcile cleanly to IFRS group reporting, and auditors and tax advisors in each country work to one consistent counterpart.

Oracle NetSuite is configured with accounting ownership of the chart of accounts, close process and approval workflows. The accounting team has direct leadership and clear priorities, procedures are documented and audit-ready rather than dependent on individual effort, and Fossefall can take on additional entities without adding headcount in proportion.
