We are looking for an Educational Advisor to join our Education & Research Support department. Department

Education & Research Support (E&RS) is the central policy and expertise department for education and research within Hotelschool The Hague. The department supports our programmes and teaching teams in translating institutional policy into consistent and effective educational practice and contributes to the quality, accessibility and continuous development of education.

Within E&RS, the Educational Advisor has a strong internal focus on educational quality, quality assurance, accreditation, curriculum development and educational innovation. You work closely with the educational programmes and departments to safeguard and improve educational quality, translate policy and quality requirements into practice and support accreditation readiness.

General function description

As Educational Advisor, you advise and support the organisation in the development, implementation and safeguarding of educational innovation, quality assurance and assessment. You contribute to policy and decision-making at tactical and operational level and ensure that educational policy is effectively translated into practice and continuous quality improvement.

Your main responsibilities include:

- Following developments in higher education and translating these into relevant advice and educational approaches for Hotelschool The Hague;

- Working closely with lecturers and programme management on curriculum development and translating educational developments into practice;

- Advising on and facilitating the implementation of curriculum renewal, didactics, digital transformation and education technology;

- Supporting the further development of courses in line with Hotelschool The Hague's educational policy;

- Contributes to the development didactical, educational and assessment policy and delivering didactic training to lecturers and instructors;

- Contributing to educational innovation projects;

- Advising on educational and tactical issues and translating the outcomes of meetings and discussions into clear policy documents and recommendations;

- Monitoring and ensuring compliance of educational policy and developing appropriate tools and approaches to support this;

- Contributing to audits and accreditation processes at programme and institutional level;

- Analysing study results and evaluation outcomes and advising programme management and educational teams on opportunities for improvement;

- Supporting the implementation of improvement actions and monitoring compliance with agreed quality standards;

- Developing and delivering training related to assessment and contributing to assessment handbooks;

- Advising and supporting the Examination Committee and Assessment Committee and helping to strengthen awareness of assessment quality throughout the organisation.

Candidate profile

You are passionate about higher education and continuous educational improvement. You combine educational expertise with an analytical and practical approach and are able to translate policies, quality requirements and evaluation outcomes into improvements that work in practice.

You have/are:

- Specialised theoretical knowledge of higher education and educational development;

- A good understanding of the educational, organisational and social aspects of educational policy and quality;

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate information and evaluation results into clear recommendations;

- Skilled in developing educational policy and translating policy into practical implementation;

- Experienced in advising internal stakeholders on educational and quality-related matters;

- Affinity with curriculum development, didactics, assessment and educational innovation;

- Knowledge of or experience with quality assurance, audits and accreditation processes;

- Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable working with programme managers, Teamleads, lecturers, instructors and educational committees;

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

- Able to write clear and accessible policy documents, advice papers and recommendations;

- Able to manage and contribute to educational projects;

- Digitally skilled and comfortable working with different systems and applications;

- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences (CAO HBO), depending on your professional experience and qualifications. Based on the current 2026 CAO HBO salary table, scale 11 ranges from €4,632.17 to €6,677.44 gross per month for a full-time appointment.
