Role Description
Launch your career with SMBC through our 7.5-month Co-Op Placement Programme based in Tralee, County Kerry. This is an on-site placement running from 11 January 2027 to 27 August 2027, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a global financial services organisation.
Throughout the placement, you will work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects, develop technical and professional skills, and gain valuable insight into the operations of a leading international bank. Our co-op students are fully integrated into their teams and supported through structured onboarding, mentoring, learning opportunities and ongoing development.
Who Can Apply
- Students currently in their 2nd or 3rd year of study.
- Pursuing a degree in an IT-related discipline.
- Available to undertake a full-time placement from 11 January 2027 to 27 August 2027.
- Must have the legal right to work in Ireland for the duration of the placement and not require visa sponsorship from SMBC.

Applications for the 2027 Co-Op Placement Programme are now open and will close on 30 September 2026. Following the close of applications, all hiring decisions and offers are expected to be finalised by mid-October 2026.
