Position Description
Networks Telecoms is at the forefront of utility telecommunications, playing a critical role in the reliable operation of modern electricity networks. The primary role of the Networks Telecoms Contracts Management team is to ensure frameworks are in place to deliver a large programme of works annually which includes utilising external contractors/suppliers. The programme covers a wide range of activities including fibre, telecommunications infrastructure, professional services and associated end to end project delivery.
The role of the team is evolving and offers scope for variety as the support provided to the Networks Telecoms Delivery Organisation covers a wide range of activities including contractor payments, performance reporting on various programmes, safety support and engaging with the relevant stakeholders nationally.
This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the Networks business, and will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop/enhance the following skills:
- In-depth knowledge of ESB Networks business
- Strong Customer Service orientation
- Use of IT applications such as SAP, Excel, Word etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement activity coordination
- Day to day framework operations
- Work in accordance with agreed guidelines, policies and procedures
- Providing excellent customer service to all Networks Telecoms customers
- Work as part of a multi-functional organisation and support all units nationally
- Share knowledge and skills openly with other members of the team
- Reporting – KPI reporting and performance reviews
- Facilitate and support others in procurement and contract management function
- Providing clerical/project support to Network Telecoms Contract Owners, project management and delivery
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change
- Working as part of a flexible team, the successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of the above work.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum 2 years+ relevant experience in a contracts management, procurement or similar business environment.
- Good communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer focus.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and appropriate attention to detail
- A flexible approach to working
- An ability to work as part of a team.
- Financial awareness of managing contracts and processing purchase orders and payments
Desirable
- Knowledge of and competence in the use of IT systems such as SAP, SAP ISU, FMIS.
- Either a 3rd level qualification or equivalent relevant work experience

While training attendance in the office will be required 5 days a week. Thereafter a minimum 2 days per week will be a requirement of this role.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week . All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

€41,525 - €48,825
