Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to own the execution of high-value customer projects and programmes across Underwrite Me.

This is a hands-on and technically literate individual contributor role. You will own delivery outcomes end-to-end, working with stakeholders, customers and product teams to execute effectively and set the delivery standard.

This is a varied and exciting role, with scope to make real business impact.

What you will be doing

- You will own end-to-end delivery of both customer and internal projects and programmes. You’ll be scoping the plan, setting the milestones and ensuring we meet our commitments.
- You will drive Engineering, Product, PMM and Customer Success towards a single delivery plan, owning the critical path and sequencing across them. You will identify and actively resolve dependencies and risks, remove blockers directly, and escalate with options and a recommendation rather than a problem.
- You will be the single credible source of truth on delivery state, owning cadences, status, forecast and risk communications for both internal stakeholders and customers up to executive level. Where no delivery approach exists, you will define one.
- You will also work with the Director of Operations to build the Delivery capability itself: codifying repeatable playbooks, defining delivery-predictability metrics (on-time delivery, predictability, cycle time) and feeding structured delivery insight to Product and Engineering leadership to inform planning and prioritisation.

- You are decisive when faced with ambiguity and resilient under delivery pressure. You have recovered at-risk programmes before and can bring calm credibility to high-stakes delivery.
- You are technically credible. You can interrogate solution design and architecture trade-offs at high-level, assess change impacts and challenge in a way that materially shapes estimates, sequencing and risk decisions - going beyond coordination.
- You are a team player - driving alignment across functions with competing priorities and can influence senior stakeholders without formal authority. You work iteratively and use data when making decisions or recommendations, respectfully challenging the status quo as needed.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy getting things completed.

Technical requirements

Essential:

- 6–8 years in delivery or programme roles, with a track record of successful delivery in complex, multi-team enterprise SaaS environments
- Demonstrable recovery of at-risk programmes and delivery under high ambiguity
- Good technical grounding; credible with senior engineering managers and leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with planning, forecasting and delivery-tracking tooling (Jira, Confluence or equivalent)

Nice to have :

- Experience in insurance, financial services or other regulated enterprise markets
- Working knowledge of AI technology and experience working with AI-assistive tools
- Experience defining delivery metrics and playbooks from scratch
