Senior Accountant - OEM

An established automotive distributor is seeking a Qualified Accountant to join its Dublin Head Office team in a commercially focused finance role.

This position will suit an ambitious ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualified accountant who enjoys working beyond traditional financial reporting and wants to play an active role in supporting commercial and operational decision-making.

Working closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation, the successful candidate will provide financial insight, challenge and analysis across multiple areas of the business.

The Role

- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets.
- Providing meaningful commercial analysis and insight to senior management.
- Monitoring revenue, profitability, margins, costs and key business KPIs.
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analysis of performance across brands, departments, products and distribution channels.
- Preparation of financial models and business cases to support commercial decisions.
- Budgeting, forecasting and detailed variance analysis.
- Supporting cash-flow management and working-capital analysis.
- Maintaining strong financial controls and balance-sheet integrity.
- Supporting year-end audit, statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
- Improving management information, reporting processes and financial systems.
- Supporting strategic and ad-hoc projects across the wider business.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA – with strong commercial awareness and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Experience within the automotive sector would be particularly attractive , especially within a distributor, importer, dealer group, leasing, fleet or related automotive business.

Candidates from other fast-paced commercial, retail or distribution environments will also be considered.

You should demonstrate:

- Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with senior management and operational stakeholders.
- An ability to turn financial data into clear commercial recommendations.
- A proactive approach and an interest in understanding how the wider business operates
