We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Practitioner to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of Wiltshire’s residents. As part of our Building Resilience Team, you will play a key role in leading and supporting work to prevent and reduce gambling-related harms, while also contributing to wider public health priorities relating to mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, suicide prevention and substance use.
This is an opportunity to influence population health outcomes, reduce inequalities and help develop innovative approaches that support individuals, families and communities affected by gambling harms. As a Public Health Practitioner, you will lead and support initiatives that prevent and reduce gambling-related harms across Wiltshire. You will work with a wide range of partners to develop and deliver evidence-based interventions that improve health and wellbeing outcomes and support those most at risk.
The role will focus on raising awareness of gambling harms, promoting early identification and intervention, strengthening local pathways of support, and reducing the wider social, financial and health impacts associated with harmful gambling. You will also contribute to broader work programmes relating to mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, suicide prevention and co-existing challenges such as substance use.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering projects and using data, evidence and insight to inform decision-making and improve outcomes. They will be confident working collaboratively with a range of partners, building effective relationships and influencing across organisations and communities. They will be a proactive communicator with strong organisational and project management skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver work programmes effectively.

The post holder will also hold a first class degree of equivalent academic ability or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills and experience relevant to Public Health
