# Job Description Summary
As the Semiconductor Supplier Optimization Leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing supplier and sourcing strategies that strengthen supply continuity, improve delivery performance, enhance cost competitiveness, and build effective supplier relationships across the semiconductor and electronic components category. You will own semiconductor supplier delivery performance, drive On-Time Delivery (OTD), manage critical supply escalations, monitor market and supplier risks, and develop mitigation strategies to support business continuity.

This role requires strong semiconductor sourcing and supplier management expertise, negotiation skills, analytical capability, and business acumen. You will serve as a key link between semiconductor suppliers, Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) partners, and internal business stakeholders, using market insights and supplier performance data to influence decisions and drive measurable improvements in supply, cost, quality, and customer outcomes. A strong understanding of semiconductor market dynamics, supplier capabilities, industry trends, and supply chain risks will be critical to developing both short- and long-term component supply strategies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

- Develop and execute semiconductor supplier and sourcing strategies that improve supply continuity, delivery performance, cost competitiveness, supplier capability, and overall business outcomes.
- Own semiconductor and electronic component supplier delivery performance, with a strong focus on On-Time Delivery (OTD), lead-time improvement, supply assurance, and supplier accountability.
- Manage a broad portfolio of semiconductor and electronic component suppliers, driving performance against delivery, quality, cost, capacity, and business requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations related to delivery commitments, capacity allocation, supply assurance, commercial requirements, recovery actions, and other critical supply needs.
- Manage critical supplier escalations, shortages, and delivery challenges, driving timely recovery plans and corrective actions to minimize business and customer impact.
- Serve as a key point of contact between semiconductor suppliers, Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) partners, and internal business stakeholders for supplier performance, supply risks, and escalations.
- Monitor and analyze global semiconductor market trends, supplier capacity, lead times, technology and industry developments, and emerging supply risks to anticipate potential business impact.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and risk profiling, and develop mitigation strategies for potential component shortages and supply disruptions.
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to identify alternate sourcing opportunities and supply solutions for electronic components.
- Develop and support short- and long-term semiconductor and electronic component supply strategies based on forecasts, supplier capabilities, market conditions, risk, and business requirements.
- Utilize supplier performance data, analytics, and sourcing tools to identify performance gaps, analyze trends, conduct root cause analysis, and drive measurable corrective actions.
- Partner closely with Sourcing, Engineering, Planning, Operations, EMS, SBU, and multimodality teams to align supplier strategies with forecasts, component requirements, and business priorities.
- Build and maintain strong commercial and operational relationships with strategic semiconductor suppliers while driving accountability and continuous performance improvement.
- Support supplier performance reviews and improvement programs to strengthen delivery reliability, responsiveness, supply resilience, and long-term supplier relationships.
- Communicate supply risks, supplier performance, recovery plans, and market developments clearly and proactively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Independently manage supplier performance and supply-chain responsibilities in a global individual-contributor role, collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers across regions and time zones.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor/electronic component supplier management, sourcing, supply chain, category management , or a related function.
- Strong electronics domain knowledge with a good understanding of semiconductor products, supply chain dynamics, and the global supplier ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience managing semiconductor and/or electronic component suppliers, including experience working across a broad supplier portfolio.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, supplier performance management, delivery escalations, and resolution of supply challenges.
- Experience analyzing semiconductor market trends, supplier risks, capacity constraints, and future supply conditions.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier risk assessment, risk profiling, and development of mitigation and recovery plans.
- Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, EMS partners, and cross-functional business teams.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex portfolio of semiconductor and electronic component suppliers.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to influence supplier commitments related to delivery, capacity, cost, supply assurance, and performance improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate supplier performance data and semiconductor market intelligence into actionable supply strategies.
- Ability to independently manage supplier escalations, shortages, and supply risks while coordinating recovery actions across suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor market dynamics, including supply-demand conditions, lead times, supplier capacity, industry trends, and factors affecting component availability.
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders across Sourcing, Engineering, Planning, Operations, EMS partners, SBUs, and suppliers without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate supplier performance, supply risks, mitigation plans, and business impact.
- Ability to balance cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supplier performance, operational requirements, risk, and customer needs when making recommendations.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global business environment and work flexibly across time zones based on supplier and stakeholder requirements.
