About this role
Description
At Amazon, we’re working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. We are looking for a dynamic HR professional to join our Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR) PXT team as a Principal HR Business Partner supporting the Worldwide Sustainability and Amazon Community Impact (ACI) organizations, led by Kara Hurst.
This role will be based out of Seattle, with occasional domestic and international travel required.
ROLE OVERVIEW
In this role, you will partner with business leaders across two globally-operating functions — Worldwide Sustainability (WWS), which drives Amazon’s global climate and environmental commitments, and Amazon Community Impact (ACI). You will help leaders develop and execute HR strategies that enable business priorities and foster a high-performance employee experience across a complex, international organization.
This role requires strong leadership, executive presence, and the ability to operate both strategically with senior leadership teams and hands-on with individuals and teams. You must be a seasoned professional who can coach and consult at the VP level, partner on strategic people initiatives, and implement and optimize HR programs and processes across a global footprint. Excellent written communication skills, including Amazon-style narrative document writing, are essential.
You will diagnose issues and influence long-term solutions and outcomes. You must be able to collaborate across groups and influence all levels of the organization without direct authority. You will need strong business acumen, executive coaching skills, strategic thinking, and planning and project management skills. You must be able to balance competing priorities and conflicting opinions, and facilitate the best decisions for stakeholders in an environment of ambiguity and rapid change.

• Engage COE partners (HR Partner, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Compensation) to define and tackle organizational obstacles and drive broader PXT initiatives.
• Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions, and job re-leveling.
• Leverage data, functional expertise, and sound judgment to influence long-term decisions, drive organizational effectiveness, and evolve ways of working across both functions.
• Explore and apply GenAI tools where they add value to HR work, combining AI with human expertise while maintaining transparency, accountability, and sound judgment.
