Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. The global network of Greenpeace organisations comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a coordinating and supporting organisation, Greenpeace International.
Join our welcoming Supporter Care team as a Supporter Care Assistant, helping us deliver exceptional experiences for Greenpeace supporters and the public. You’ll be a key point of contact across email, telephone and post, responding to campaign enquiries, processing donations and building positive relationships with people from all backgrounds.
Alongside keeping supporter records accurate and handling essential administration, you’ll help bring our work to life by sharing campaign updates, thanking supporters and helping people find new ways to take action for our planet.
You will achieve this by:
- Confidently handle inbound calls, answering questions about Greenpeace campaigns and supporter enquiries.
- Process donations and update supporter details accurately and sensitively over the phone
- Make outbound calls to welcome new supporters, thank long-term donors and talk to supporters about opportunities to support Greenpeace in other ways, including leaving a gift in their Will.
- Keep supporter records accurate and up to date, including donations, communication preferences and changes to supporter details.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Supporter Care and the wider organisation to provide a consistent and positive supporter experience.
- Be willing to adapt to changing priorities and help where needed to ensure the team continues to provide a high-quality service.
- Demonstrably live our values - Relationships First, We Want to Win, Lifting All Boats - in a positive and authentic way in your day-to-day work and interactions.
Please note that the working hours are 9am - 5.30pm.
Requirements
About you
You don’t need previous Supporter Care experience. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, able to communicate clearly and positively with others, and willing to learn, with a genuine interest in Greenpeace’s work.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising and digital, you’ll help make sure every supporter feels listened to, valued and empowered. If you enjoy connecting with people, take pride in doing a great job and want your work to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Our commitment to diversity:
We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in environmental and campaigning organisations and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this.
One of our Anti Racism Plan objectives is to proactively achieve stronger representation of people of colour, particularly within leadership positions, and we have recently published ambitious race representation targets .
As part of our commitment to increasing representation of people from underrepresented communities in the environmental sector, we are piloting a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) as a new approach to make our recruitment more equitable. If you identify as a person of colour, you can choose to opt in to the Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
We will be aiming to offer everyone who opts into the scheme and meets the essential criteria a first stage interview. While we fully intend to honour this, exceptionally high application volumes may affect our capacity. If so, we will communicate clearly and keep candidates informed as we continue to learn and improve.
Greenpeace UK is an inclusive and diversity-friendly employer. We value difference, promote equality and challenge discrimination, enhancing our organisational capability. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other category protected by law
