Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is part of a collaborative team and reports to the HR Supervisor. Primary responsibility is to provide HR support to senior business leaders, managers, and front-line supervisors, administer HR programs and policies, participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide excellent customer service to employees and business leaders. The position is located at PACCAR’s Global IT Headquarters in Renton, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent Management:

- Engages and supports managers as a trusted advisor to be accountable for driving high performing teams, and development of their people through clarity of leader expectations and what constitutes authentic and inspiring leadership.

- Guide managers in effectively using the tools and processes available to maximize employee performance, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employee engagement, and ensure legal compliance.

- Partner with recruitment team on job descriptions and other staffing related activities including interviewing and candidate selection process.

- Provide guidance and act on job grade evaluations, employee salary recommendations, promotion recommendations, etc.

- Affirmative action and diversity planning.

- Provide back-up support to new hire processes including orientations.

Training and Development:

- Collaborate with HR team to facilitate mandatory training such as new supervisor training and ethics.

Engagement, Rewards and Retention :

- Assists in delivering the alignment of people and culture strategies with business priorities to enable business performance and the execution of talent strategies to achieve a highly capable and engaged workforce

- Develops innovative and fun employee events that drive employee engagement, increases productivity, and improves morale and retention.

- Implement action items from the employee survey.

- Embraces and integrates inclusion and diversity into business and HR strategies, nurturing an environment that is open-minded that that embodies PACCAR values.

- Works in a collaborative manner with HR team to provide uniform interpretation and application of policies, practices and procedures.

- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for continuous improvement.

- Administer absence management/Leave of Absence programs including FMLA, ADA, STD, State leave programs and Worker’s Compensation.

- Administer Service Award program and co-coordinates annual Service Award Banquet.

- Provide compensation guidance including job re-leveling, merits, promotions, etc.

Organizational and HR Effectiveness:

- Provide back-up coverage for our front desk and office services.

- Lead the division safety committee and wellness initiatives.

- Participate in division and Companywide Six Sigma projects, Internal Control audits, and projects that support the human resources needs of PACCAR’s continuous improvement approach.

- Participates in global HR continuous improvement initiatives. Leverage existing technology in new and creative ways.

- Communicate HR initiatives and serve as a liaison between partner group and HR functional areas (benefits, recruitment, training)

- Build positive employee relations with proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution, and fair and equitable treatment. This includes support of local and corporate programs to promote employee goodwill and positive morale.

- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports related to headcount, turnover, recruiting, compensation, leave administration while ensuring data accuracy and integrity

- Other duties as assigned.

Visa sponsorship or immigration support is not available for this position. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain that authorization throughout their employment without requiring employer sponsorship.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in business related discipline or human resources required

- 3+ years of broad Human Resources generalist experience required with a broad depth of experience across the employee life cycle with a particular focus on supporting great team performance.

- Experience identifying innovative solutions to solve problems.

- Experience influencing at the peer-level and above

- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Professional with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

- Highest standards of confidentiality along with strong skills in conflict resolution, influencing, and problem solving.

- Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, AAP and Workers’ Compensation.

- Understanding and working experience with SAP and SharePoint beyond basic data entry preferred. HRIS and highly skilled with MS Office

Perferred Qualifications

- Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification desired.

- IT industry experience a plus.
