Azure IaC Engineer, Senior

Description of Task to be Performed:
AnaVation is seeking a senior-level Azure Engineer with an active Secret clearance. This a newly-awarded contract, so the selected candidate must be a self-starter who is eager to quickly integrate with a high-performing team responsible for accrediting and implementing a new digital evidence platform for our Federal Government client. This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Washington DC as needed.
What you will be doing
Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure leveraging IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Architect and implement automated deployment pipelines integrating IaC frameworks with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure environments.
Lead high‑complexity cloud infrastructure projects, driving best practices in automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate technical requirements and design solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced Azure infrastructure issues involving networking, identity, compute, storage, and Kubernetes (AKS).
Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers; provide technical leadership and thought guidance on IaC and cloud modernization.
Maintain documentation for deployments, architectures, patterns, and operational processes.
Stay current on Azure platform advancements and advocate for tools or practices that enhance reliability, performance, or engineering efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology

- Five (5) years of hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.

- Clearance :
- Public Trust; US Citizenship is required

- Other Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Advanced experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.

- Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployment workflows.

- Deep understanding of Azure services across networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS).

- Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.

- Experience implementing cloud governance frameworks, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security baselines.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex distributed systems.

- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with diverse technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-400, or equivalent).

- Experience with platform engineering and building reusable infrastructure modules.

- Familiarity cloud cost optimization strategies.

- Experience working in Agile environments.
