Position Overview:
Westerner Park is seeking a service-oriented and reliable Cash Office Event Lead to join our Cash Office team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Cash Office Event Lead is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the Cash Office during events.

The Cash Office Event Lead serves as the primary point of contact for Cash Office activities, providing direction and support to staff and ensuring cash is handled, documented, and reconciled accurately and securely in accordance with established procedures. The role monitors cash handling and deposit activities, addresses issues as they arise, and promptly escalates significant discrepancies, control concerns, or staffing issues to the Accounting Manager.

This is a part-time, event-based position , with shifts scheduled according to event schedules and operational requirements. Hours will vary based on business and event needs. The majority of shifts will be scheduled during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
The Cash Office Event Lead will be responsible for the following:

Event Planning and Preparation
- Plan Cash Office staffing and float requirements for upcoming events.
- Prepare Cash Office staff schedules based on event needs and staff availability.
- Ensure required floats and change are prepared and ready before events.
- Coordinate any additional cash requirements with Finance.
- Communicate event schedules and Cash Office requirements to staff.
Event Cash Operations
- Prepare, issue and receive cash floats for events.
- Monitor the issuance and return of event floats and ensure all cash transactions are supported by required documentation.
- Prepare deposits for secure storage and bank processing.
- Ensure cash, floats and deposits are accurately reconciled, counted, documented and secured during assigned shifts and in accordance with Westerner Park’s standard procedures.
- Identify and report cash discrepancies, security concerns, and other Cash Office issues to Finance in strict accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with established cash-handling, security, and Cash Office procedures, providing guidance and support to staff to promote consistent adherence to operational standards.

- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and operational information.
Event Leadership and Coordination
- Coordinate Cash Office activities during assigned events.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to Cash Office staff.
- Help organize staffing and workflow based on event needs.
- Support training and orientation of Cash Office staff as required.
- Escalate significant staffing or operational concerns to Accounting Manager.
- Cash Office Event Lead provides day-to-day directions to Cash Office staff during assigned events, with support from the Accounting team as required.
Administration and Event Support
- Maintain required Cash Office records and documentation.
- Assist Finance with event reconciliation and follow-up as required.
- Identify recurring issues or process concerns for Finance review.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

# Here is What You Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- Two years of post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong numerical and basic reconciliation skills.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems or accounting software is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in an event, hospitality, retail or high-volume cash environment is considered an asset.
- Previous experience providing direction or support to other staff is considered an asset.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends based on the event schedule.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check, including a criminal record check, as a condition of employment.
- Must be able to managing competing priorities and changing operational demands.
