Occupational Summary
Duke Primary Care (DPC) is seeking a physician to serve as a member of the Virtual Care Teams Virtual Weight Management Clinic (VWMC).
Members of DPCs Virtual Care Team (VCT) are clinicians responsible for managing patient needs through video visits, and this role will primarily focus on Obesity Management. Physicians should have a strong understanding of Obesity Pathophysiology and comprehensive treatment approaches and have a current certification in Obesity Medicine by American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). Physicians will provide comprehensive Obesity care (assessment, diagnosis, treatment through behavioral/lifestyle therapy/pharmacotherapy) for adult patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Registered Dieticians, Health Coach and Behavioral Therapist to optimize comprehensive care.
The virtual portion of this role is primarily dedicated to Weight Management, with the flexibility to provide care for acute illnesses via video visits when weight management appointments are not fully utilized.
