About the role

Junior R&D Associate plays an essential role in leading the NPD/EPD projects, BDI’s & other initiatives such as maintenance activities as part of the One China R&D team. The role requires high level of practical, technical & organisational skills and the ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary project team whilst having strong ownership of key aspects of the project. They work in close collaboration with the wider R&D matrix & with other functions in the business, to ensure we meet needs of both the China & RB business. The role also requires high degree of flexibility and experience to work across wide range of R&D projects such as NPD, BDIs and maintenance activities across several product formats in different product categories if required and as an extension strong ability to work with wider R&D community across different sites, different cultures & different functions. The role expects a high level of stake holder engagement of varying seniority to seek alignment on key decisions required to drive projects ahead and also expects people management skills to manage direct and in-direct reports as required.

Your responsibilities

Projects delivered on time, in full and as per agreed budget and to the appropriate internal and external standards with all required documents being completed to meet regulatory and legislative standards. Any issues or risks clearly highlighted to line managers in a timely manner.

Liaise with the cross functional internal and external team to ensure your technical milestones are met whilst meeting all they key KPI’s met as per the aligned success criteria.

Ensure all relevant product specifications and internal documentation is in place and fully approved prior to full production start-up & responsible for the compilation, approval and circulation of technical reports throughout the product development process, to ensure full audit readiness. Enforce quality mind by ‘Right first time’ practice for working in area by following documented procedures & follow good documentation practice such as technical transfer.

To be consumer & digitally minded to develop new product ideas and pipeline moving forward. Create and develop new robust evaluation methodologies leading to sustainable and consumer-relevant claims

Actively support any initiatives or developments to ensure all activities must conform to legislative, health & safety and environmental requirements. Work as part of wider team to drive the continuous improvement of processes & systems to ensure ability for China & ensure this meets requirements of RB systems

Be aware, accountable for safety, health & environment in workplace all time to ensure free-accident & good environment area of working

Follow safety, health & environment regulations & policy by working safely, reporting unsafe condition / unsafe act / near miss accident to supervisor as well as suggest for any improvement

Keep abreast of competitor activity in assigned areas.

The experience we're looking for

- At least master ’s degree in relevant scientific discipline such as engineering or sciences.

- Relevant experience within product development role within FMCG environment with a minimum of 1 year’ s experience working in R&D or technical support functions.

- Interested in and experienced with laboratory formulation development.

- Proven track record of continuous improvement in working practices, processes, capabilities in audit ready culture

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans and able to transform solid thinking into action (a thinker and an achiever)

- Strong intellectual curiosity with an appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories and an openness to change and an ability to think out of the box

- Good English skills with experience in international company an advantage

- Strong responsibilities and ownership on assigned tasks/projects
