This role will assist in providing day-to-day advice to the business team on a range of matters, including contract interpretation, strategic advice, and general inquiries. Stord is looking for a self-starter with a bias for action who thrives in a high-growth environment.

What You'll Do:

- Own and continuously refine Stord's contract playbooks and negotiation guardrails, including fallback positions, escalation thresholds, and approval authority, to drive consistency and speed across the sales pipeline.
- Partner with Sales Operations and other cross-functional stakeholders to help build out Stord's contract management infrastructure as it scales, including template libraries, workflow tools, and process documentation.
- Support and guide the sales team and various business teams on deal structure, contract negotiations, and risk assessment, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
- Serve as a legal point of contact for the Sales and Partnerships teams, enabling deal velocity while managing risk.
- Identify opportunities to improve the contract management process to drive operational efficiencies and process standardization throughout Stord.
- Address internal inquiries regarding contractual questions, obligations, and compliance.
- Stay up to date on relevant industry, commercial, intellectual property, privacy and compliance issues.

Basic Qualifications:

- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and comfort with legal technology, including AI-assisted contract review tools and CLM platforms (Ironclad experience a plus)
- J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative approach
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

- Experience with warehouse liens, bailment law, or UCC Article 7 (warehouse receipts and documents of title).
- Familiarity with FMCSA broker regulations, transportation law, or logistics compliance requirements.
- Experience with data privacy agreements, technology contracts, or software licensing arrangements.
