Supervisor, Transportation & Logistics - Memphis

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Transportation & Logistics to oversee delivery and material transport operations supporting data center construction and operations in Memphis, TN. In this people-leadership role, you will supervise a team of commercial drivers responsible for the safe, timely, and damage-free movement of high-value materials and equipment (including servers, networking gear, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and other critical components) between warehouses, vendor sites, and data center locations. You will own team performance, scheduling, route execution, safety, and DOT compliance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, partnering with logistics and site leadership to meet project timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Hire, supervise, coach, and hold accountable a team of drivers; set expectations, conduct performance reviews, and manage attendance, overtime, and corrective action as needed

- Build and own daily/weekly driver schedules, route assignments, and workload balancing to meet delivery windows and site priorities

- Direct loading, unloading, and material-handling activity; ensure loads are properly secured and that forklift and equipment use meets safety standards

- Ensure all transport activity complies with federal, state, local, and company requirements, including CDL, Hours of Service, ELD, and DOT regulations

- Oversee barcode scanning and WMS/ERP transactions so inventory, receiving, and chain-of-custody requirements are met

- Serve as the primary point of contact for delays, exceptions, and customer or site issues; escalate promptly and drive resolution

- Review and approve delivery documentation; audit paperwork accuracy and close compliance gaps

- Monitor fleet condition, inspections, service records, cleanliness, and fueling; coordinate repairs and take vehicles out of service when required

- Track team safety and driving records; lead incident investigations, root-cause reviews, and corrective actions

- Partner with receiving, material handling, and inventory teams to align inbound/outbound flow

- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, safety, cost, and on-time delivery

- Provide backup driving or loading coverage only as needed to protect operations (not a primary duty of the role)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or equivalency certificate

- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

- 3+ years of commercial driving experience (short-haul required; long-haul preferred)

- 2+ years of formal supervisory or people-leadership experience over drivers, transportation, or warehouse/logistics teams (lead or senior driving experience is not a substitute

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in expediting, material handling, or high-volume manufacturing/data center logistics

- Experience with barcode scanning and ERP/WMS systems

- Experience operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment

- Experience transporting high-value or sensitive equipment

- Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) or ability to obtain

- Strong planning, scheduling, and workforce-management skills

- Excellent communication skills with drivers, site leadership, and cross-functional partners

- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety and compliance standards, including DOT/HOS, and to manage performance in a regulated environment

- Experience investigating incidents, coaching to SOPs, and driving operational KPIs (on-time delivery, damage rate, safety)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be willing to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed to support project timelines and team coverage

- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. unassisted

- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods

- Willingness to work in warehouse and outdoor environments that may include varying temperatures, noise, and dust

- Must maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT and company safety policies

- Ability to work on-site in Memphis, TN and travel between warehouses, vendor sites, and data center locations as required
