Investigative Producer/Reporter:

ABC57 in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Investigative Producer/Reporter to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate is a fearless journalist who champions the public's right to know. The person we are looking for should value accountability reporting, speaking truth to power, and giving a voice to the voiceless.

About the Role:

· Lead reporting on important team coverage, including elections, severe weather, and other breaking news

· Work independently and collaboratively with managers, the desk, photographers, and Special Projects EP to prioritize investigative stories and meet deadlines

· Build and maintain community sources and generate exclusive investigative story leads

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting competing deadlines

What You’ll Do:

· Develop and produce long and short-term investigative stories

· Research, vet, and follow up on news tips and investigative leads

· Contribute engaging content to our digital, website, and social media platforms

· Perform additional duties, as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

· At least two years of Reporting experience

· Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field

· Demonstrated ability to excel in live coverage, field anchoring, investigative, and special project development

· Strong news judgment and knowledge of legal and ethical standards

· Experience with filing public records requests

· Familiarity with database and research resources, including LexisNexis

· Solid enterprise reporting skills and passion for covering local news
