Capital Planning Program Specialist (Part-Time Contract)

SUMMARY

As an integral member of the Capital Planning Team, the Capital Planning Program Specialist is responsible for providing analytical support focusing on capital planning. This position requires the ability to handle a large volume of information and data sets, excellent data analysis and interpretation skills and a strong commitment to data integrity. All duties in support of and under the supervision of the Capital Planning Manager.

Under the direction of the Capital Planning Manager the CPA develops and recommends the capital plan and budget, and executes capital plan deliverables, provides oversight on the identification and preparation of tenant and fit-up projects & and assists the Capital Planning Manager with capital plan deliverables

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Data and Analytics

- Provides analytical support focusing on capital planning. Handles a large volume of information and data sets

- Ensures data integrity of capital planning data within information management systems, including Brookfield’s proprietary systems

- Compiles and maintains large volume of capital planning data within information management systems to support various reporting, benchmarking and analytical requirements

- Identifies projects from building condition assessment data and recommends accurate scopes of work, justifications and high level estimates

- Evaluates cost estimates for cyclical maintenance, replacement and repair of building components and systems gathering information from previous tenders, projects and consulting reports

- Executes ad-hoc calculations and analysis based on client requests to assist with business communication and decision making

Planning and Budgeting

- Recommends the capital plan and budget, and executes capital plan deliverables, provides oversight on the identification and preparation of tenant and fit-up projects and assists the Capital Planning Manager with capital plan deliverables

- Supports delivering capital plans used to meet KPI’s and contract deliverables

- Prepares documents for Building Performance Reviews and completes Lease Compliance Review set up in client VFA System

Teamwork and Collaboration

- Triages and tracks project requests made by the client, facility management and project management teams

- Partners with the client and various departments/teams to continuously refine and implement asset assessment management processes and tools

- Trains field personnel and system users in the correct operation of business tools, processes and procedures

- Interacts and coordinates with Property Managers, all levels of the Projects Teams and the Client, providing guidance, influencing with technical expertise and holding people accountable where required

- Other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Very strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills with a strong commitment to data integrity

- Strong computer skills including the ability to learn new software programs

- Understands the goals of the asset assessment program

- Knowledge of technical standards and process in completing asset assessments, building condition inspections

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

- Building Owners and Management Institute FMA or SMA / / Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM)

- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Building Owners and Management Institute RPA, Certified Property Manager (CPM) Degree in Building Sciences or Business Administration would be considered assets

This is a contract, part-time position with a salary range of $75,440 - $94,300 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
